Summer Activity Leaders- Municipality of Killarney-Turtle Mountain 

Leaders will be self-starters who love to work with children in a fun environment, planning and supervising activities for kids ages five years and older for summer day programs at Erin Park, The Agricultural Grounds, and area. They will be responsible and able to work well in a team environment, and willing and able to anticipate, and respond to the needs of the children in their care as a priority of the program. Leaders will demonstrate creative thinking, a willingness to be active alongside the kids to engage them in activities. Leaders may also assist in community events such as Canada Day and other duties at the Shamrock Centre as requested. To be eligible, applicants must be 15 years of age and over, a full time student in the current academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the upcoming academic year, and legally entitled to work in Canada. The successful applicants will have their current basic first aid certification or be willing to acquire it prior to employment.

Summer Recreation Programmer- Macdonald-Headingley Recreation District

Macdonald-Headingley Recreation District (MHRD) is looking for enthusiastic, attentive summer staff to lead, support and motivate children as they enjoy all that is offered through our various summer programs. Recognizing that children need to learn from a caring role model in a safe and welcoming environment, the Recreation Programmer will work collaboratively with other staff to help plan programs, participate in programming, and monitor participants. The Recreation Programmer should be positive, proactive, and caring, while providing the best participant experience. Groundskeeper- Robert A. Steen Community Centre

Robert A. Steen Community Centre is seeking a youth for a summer Groundskeeper position. As Groundskeeper, you are responsible for maintaining the landscape around the Robert A. Steen Community Centre. Duties include: mowing lawns, raking, removing weeds, trimming shrubs, planting new greenery and flowers. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have physical endurance, a keen eye for detail and willing to learn.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Able to work alone
  • Self-motivated
  • Have some experience with lawn care equipment such as push mower, weed trimmer, shovel, and rake.
  • Must be a youth between 18 years and 29 years of age (position funded by the Provincial Green Team Grant)
  • Prior experience in field maintenance (grass cutting, weeding, operating equipment) is considered an asset
  • Class 5 Driver’s License is considered an asset
  • Must be able to complete a successful Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry or have successfully passed in the last 6 months.
  • Must be available Monday to Friday 9 AM to 5 PM

Note: additional duties may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.

Leisure Services Labourer/ Operator - Rural Municipality of La Broquerie 

Wage: $23.17 to $26.08

Job Description: Reporting to the Leisure Services Foreman, perform a variety of tasks including maintenance and operation of Leisure Services Facilities. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all facilities are clean, safe, and secure for users;
  • Maintain accurate inspection and service logs of equipment and facilities;
  • Operate and perform maintenance on equipment including grounds keeping, landscaping

equipment, ice-making plant, ice resurfacer and vehicles;

  • Perform building maintenance including painting, plumbing, carpentry, cleaning duties and other


  • Maintain organized work areas and ensure overall cleanliness of facilities, both interior and exterior;
  • Perform a variety of seasonal tasks such as maintenance of grounds and beautification related work;
  • Coordinate with contractors and service providers as required;
  • Work as an Arena Operator during arena season and is responsible for ice making, operation and

maintenance of overall facility and equipment;

  • Operate and monitor refrigeration plant following all related legislation and safety procedures.

Community Economic Development Officer- Rural Municipality of La Broquerie

Head Lifeguard- Dauphin Recreation Services

Salary Range: $20 - $23 hourly, depending on qualifications.


1. Current Standard First Aid (SFA) or Aquatic Emergency Care (AEC)

2. Current CPR “C” Certification

3. Current National Lifeguard – Core/Pool Option (NL)

4. Current Lifesaving Swim for Life Instructor

5. Proven leadership abilities and effective communication skills.

6. Job requires evening and weekend shifts.

7. Must present a recent medical examination certificate which includes hearing and vision test.

Summer Camp Counselors- Robert A. Steen Community Centre

Robert A. Steen Community Centre summer camps run weekly throughout July and August. This Day Camp is for children 7 to 12 years of age. The Summer Camp Counselors are responsible for working within the designated program to ensure that the program criteria and objectives are carried out while maintaining an energetic and engaged attitude. The Summer Camp Counselors will provide all program participants with a safe and enjoyable experience.

Must have cleared a Child Abuse Registry Check and Criminal Record Check. Must have current First Aid/CPR and AED certification if not, the Centre will provide training. This position starts the week of June 28, 2022, for staff training. Full time (8hrs/day). The salary range is $11.95 - $13/hour.

Recreation Manger- Municipality of Roblin

Under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer, the Recreation Manager will be responsible for the programing and scheduling of recreational activities as well as managing the upkeep of the municipal green space areas.

This is a full-time position. We require a person who is self-motivated, has managerial/supervision experience, has excellent communication skills and is able to work well with others. The successful applicant must possess a valid driver's licence. A degree or diploma in recreation and experience in a municipal recreation position would be an asset but is not mandatory.

Recreation Manager- Town of Winnipeg Beach 

The Town of Winnipeg Beach Recreation Department is accepting applications for a Recreation Manager. This hands-on management position reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer. The Recreation Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing a broad range of community recreation services, programs, and facilities, encouraging maximum community involvement and coordination with other community organizations. 

A post-secondary education in recreation with a minimum of three years experience in a local government environment is preferred. Training in refrigeration plant operations is an asset. This experience shall include personnel management, recreation facility management and program planning. Excellent leadership skills and an ability to effectively communicate with the public, council and staff are necessary.
