Risk Management Training – Recreation and Parks

Risk and Recreation training was developed to allow organizations to properly balance risk and rewards for a wide range recreation programs and facilities. We are pleased to bring this training to Manitoba.

This workshop will cover many areas of concern including:

  • Rinks and Golf Courses
  • Personal Liability
  • Use of Volunteers
  • User agreements
  • Importance of risk in recreation
  • Injury and liability issues and concerns ( examples from recent liability cases). How would your department fare?
  • Risk Management Policies & Practices
  • LAW of Risk management (developing effective methods to allow appropriate risk)
  • Inspections and risk assessments. Discussion on the need and how to complete them for specific areas of concern.
  • Documentation and record keeping
  • Abuse and Harassment … and much more

About the Presenter

The workshop will be presented by Doug Wyseman who has worked in the field of risk management for close to forty years As well as having experience as risk manager for a large Canadian municipality, Doug has assisted municipalities from Honolulu to Halifax in the development of effective risk management programs. He also provides training on a wide variety of public sector risk concerns with groups such as NRPA, American Trails, The Public Risk Management Association, SPAUSA, American Public Works Association and many others.
