Connect 2026 is going to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the provincial conference. As part of that celebration and to highlight the diversity and skills throughout the regions, we are launching the Connect Regional Cup, otherwise known as the Battle of the Regions.
This province wide competition will allow each of the 7 regions to engage in a friendly display of wit, creative and teamwork. The Connect Regional Cup will be a set of 5 competitions from October to February as well as individual opportunities to collect points for their region.
Challenge Points
There will be 5 challenges in total, and only one submission is allowed per region. These submissions must be received by the deadline using the submission form or emailed to projects@recreationmb.ca
Each challenge is aligned with one of the following "themes"
Ongoing Points
Individuals will have the opportunity to earn points for their regions through tasks over the next five months. These points earning activities will be in our newsletter, website, and social media. Keep your eye posted to earn points for your region.
Each Region has been assigned a colour, as noted in the image. The region can determine the shade of their assigned colour but cannot deviate from the assigned colour. For example, blue cannot be closer to a teal or red being closer to burgandy. Rec MB office will be the final decision holder if there are any questions about the assigned colour. |
Team Challenge # 2: November 1 to December 15 The second challenge will focus on your region's creativity! This month's challenge is to produce a digital or physical creative project that showcases a skill or strength of your region.Projects can be as elaborate or as simple as you like such as posters, short videos, artwork, photo collages, or other creative displays are all welcome. Every region has a skill or are of strength that sets you apart from other regions in Manitoba. Submit your project by December 15 to earn points for your region. Email your submission to projects@recreationmb.ca. If its a physical creative project, get in touch with us for submission details. |
Team Challenge #3: November 28 to January 15 Imagine your region is given $300,000 for an initiative or project that would improve community well-being through recreation. Outline how your region would use that money to benefit the most individuals and communities within your area. Be creative, think big, and show how recreation can make a real impact! Individual Challenge #3 For our next individual challenge, we want to know: What would your dream job be if you weren't working in recreation? Share your answer and earn points for your region! We can't wait to see the creative (and surprising!) dream careers you come up with! We're collecting facility information for Diving Manitoba. (Central Region, for those who provided in person feedback, you've already earned points for completing this and the bonus points from Kylo!) For all other regions, please let us know: How many springboards (indoor or outdoor) do you have at your pool(s)? Please submit your response to earn a point for your region, even if your answer is zero. Individual Challenge Form Connect Regional Cup: Individual Challenge – Fill out form |
